PhD School in Legal Sciences

The PhD School in Legal Sciences includes the following tracks:

  • Comparative law: area coordinator Professor Vittoria Barsotti
  • International and European Union law: area coordinator Professor  Micaela Frulli
  • Public law, town planning law and and environmental law: area coordinator to be appointed
  • Private law: area coordinator Professor Giovanni Passagnoli
  • Criminal law and criminal procedure: area coordinator Professor Michele Papa
  • Theory and history of law: area coordinator Professor Paolo Cappellini
  • Theories of human Rights - Law and society, genealogy and perspectives of legal thinking international: area coordinator Professor Emilio Santoro

 

The international curriculum in Theories of human rights – Law and society, genealogy and perspectives of legal thinking is implemented on the basis of agreements with two Brazilian universities, namely the Universidade Federal da Paraiba (UFPB) and the Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS).
All students admitted to the curriculum in Theories of human rights – Law and society, genealogy and perspectives of legal thinking will spend at least six months of the PhD course's three years in at least one of the two partner universities, other than the one hosting the PhD course they have applied to. At the end of this curriculum partner universities will jointly grant the PhD as "Dottore di ricerca" and the PhD as "Doutor em Direito".

 

  • European and transnational legal studies (international, in English): area coordinator Professor Adelina Adinolfi

     

 The international curriculum in European and transnational legal studies is implemented in cooperation with Maastricht university.

 

  • Business, labor, civil procedure and autonomy in dispute management: area coordinator Professor Riccardo Del Punta
