The curriculum aims to provide research training for young scholars in the fields relating to the private-law legal system, with particular reference to the law of persons, family relationships, succession, circulation of property, obligations, and contracts.
The methodological approach adopted takes into account the dimensions of constitutional legality, European and transnational law, and legal pluralism, in light of which civil-law categories must today be reinterpreted. Particular emphasis is placed on emerging issues connected with the unitary European perspectives of market development and with the interaction between law and technological innovation in various relevant fields, including biolaw, information technology, and personal data protection, also from the perspective of increasing interdisciplinary integration.
The educational pathway aims to develop the critical capacity of young scholars and their active participation in doctoral initiatives, including—where beneficial to their training—the concrete conception and organization of such activities.
