To promote the internationalization of research, also in line with the objectives of the Department of Legal Sciences’ Project of Excellence 2023–2027, doctoral theses carried out under co-supervision (cotutelle) are encouraged, on the basis of specific cooperation agreements with foreign universities.
The PhD Programme in Legal Sciences has entered into framework co-supervision agreements with the universities collaborating in the international curriculum Theories of Human Rights – Law and Society, Genealogy and Perspectives of Legal Thought (Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie).
A Memorandum of Understanding aimed at facilitating co-supervision agreements is also in force with Maastricht University, within the international curriculum European and Transnational Legal Studies.
The PhD Programme in Legal Sciences encourages and facilitates the conclusion of individual co-supervision agreements with foreign universities, linked to the specific research interests and needs of PhD candidates.
